Dudgeon Offshore Wind has now established its Operations Centre for the Dudgeon Offshore Wind Farm in this port town, and the building was officially opened on 9 September 2016 by Councillor Graham Plant, Leader of Great Yarmouth Borough Council.
The site on South Denes Road provides 152 metres of river harbour quayside across berths 8,9 and 10. Providing 24 hour/7 day per week access to the wind farm, it is the Dudgeon base during the construction of the wind farm and will be the hub for all O&M activity for the life of the wind farm.
The site was originally occupied by a large warehouse which has been converted to provide a purpose designed O&M base. It features office accommodation, a marine logistics centre and warehousing, along with adequate car parking for all the employees who are expected to be based from South Denes Road once the wind farm starts generating electricity in 2017.
