North Norfolk has a vibrant fishing industry, mainly centred on crabs, lobster and whelks, in the waters in which the Dudgeon Offshore Wind Farm, and its associated export cables, will be sited. In 2014 the stakeholder management team agreed a level of disruption payments for those fishermen whose livelihoods were affected while seabed surveys were undertaken.
Discussions and negotiations continued during 2015 as the level of disruption to fishing activity during the construction phase was further defined. Since February 2016 the export cable corridor and the wind farm site have become exclusion zones because offshore construction has commenced.
Dudgeon Offshore Wind Limited has appointed Alan Cooper as its Fishing Liaison Officer [FLO]. He can be contacted at +T: 44 1328 856288 or M: +44 7760 781956
