The Sheringham Shoal and Dudgeon Offshore Wind Farms extensions project is a Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project (NSIP), and it was granted a Development Consent Order (DCO) by the Secretary of State for the Department for Energy, Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) in April 2024.
All the documents relating to the extensions project and its DCO can be found at
https://national-infrastructure-consenting.planninginspectorate.gov.uk/projects/EN10109/documents
Since the grant of the DCO, the Extensions Project Team has been working with statutory authorities and other stakeholders to discharge the many planning conditions associated with such Consent Orders.
At the same time, the construction and operational detail is being prepared for a Financial Investment Decision (FID) in due course.
Onshore, the first phase of cable route archaeology surveys was completed in late 2024; these included geophysical surveys, metal detecting and trial trenching. Two further phases of such surveys will take place during 2025, each phase being aligned with farming activities associated with the land to be surveyed.
Landowners of any land along the route of the onshore cable route with any queries relating to these surveys should contact the Sheringham and Dudgeon Extensions Project Land Team at Dalcour Maclaren:

There are currently two other offshore wind farm infrastructure developments taking place across Norfolk, as well as a National Highways A47 road improvement programme. Although the timing of the onshore works associated with the extensions project has yet to be announced, it is possible that the construction activities may coincide with one or more of these other projects.
With this in mind, Equinor is continuing to collaborate and work in close co-operation with the developers of these other projects to ensure that the development of the extensions construction plans reflect measures which are designed to minimise the combined disruptive effects of these infrastructure works.
