Dudgeon Offshore Wind awards onshore cables EPCI contract

 

Dudgeon Offshore Wind Limited has awarded the EPCI contract for the onshore cables for its Dudgeon Offshore Wind Farm to Carillion Utility Service LTD.

The contract covers engineering, procurement, construction and installation of two 132 kV onshore export cable circuits.

The onshore cable route consists of approximately 47km buried cable system, running between the landfall at Weybourne in North Norfolk and the substation at Necton in the Breckland District.

Carillion will start pre-construction activities in 2014 followed by the main construction and installation activities in 2015 and 2016. The work includes activities like installation of cable ducts, cable installation and jointing, testing and reinstatement of the working areas.

The onshore cable installation shall be finalized during 2016.

Statoil's facility manager Olav-Bernt Haga said; "We are very satisfied with the quality and the competitiveness of the received bids, and glad to award this key contract which involves high local activity in Norfolk to Carillion. We look forward to continue the good cooperation from the Dudgeon site enabling contract and the Sheringham Shoal onshore export cable contract."
