Saturday night the first of 67 wind turbines was installed at the Dudgeon offshore Windfarm off Norfolk, UK. And it happened exactly according to plan.
On 01 December 2016, representatives from Statoil, Siemens and North Midlands Construction met with representatives from six local charities in Necton Village Hall. They were there to take part in the second round of Dudgeon Charity Awards.
At a meeting earlier this month, the Dudgeon Community Fund panel awarded a total of £126,500 to twenty one community projects in Norfolk.

The Dudgeon installations are progressing according to plan. Almost half of the foundations have been installed, the export cables have been laid and in May the substation jacket was lifted in place.
London, UK, May 12, 2016: The developers of one of the world‘s largest offshore wind farms announced the limited recourse financing for the project today, having reached financial close in six months.
On 20th April 2016, the three companies involved in building the on-shore substation for the Dudgeon Offshore Wind Farm at Necton in Breckland, Norfolk, presented generous donations to six local charities.
Offshore construction of the Dudgeon Offshore Wind Farm commenced in March 2016, and charter contracts have been agreed with MPI Workboats and Rix Sea Shuttle for the associated crew transfer vessels, which will work from Dudgeon‘s O&M base in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk.
Statoil has selected Partrac Limited to provide real-time wave and current measurement services for the Dudgeon Offshore Wind Farm. The company has been contracted to manage the deployment and maintenance of the equipment and the delivery of real-time waves and current data over the duration of the construction phase of the development.
Statoil has started marine installations on the Dudgeon offshore wind park offshore Norfolk, England. When completed in 2017, the wind park can power up to 410,000 homes in the United Kingdom with renewable energy.
The development of the Dudgeon Offshore Wind Farm is progressing as planned. The project is not affected by Statkraft’s announcement of reduced investment plans in offshore wind. Full production is expected in late 2017 as previously announced.
The Dudgeon Offshore Wind Farm project is now welcoming its first ten operations and maintenance (O&M) personnel onto the site at Berth 9 on the River Yare within the port of Great Yarmouth in Norfolk.
Dudgeon Offshore Wind Ltd has awarded the contract to build its onshore operations and maintenance (O&M) base to East Anglian construction company R G Carter
The one year contract requirements have been reached for Dudgeon – a milestone demonstrating that the project qualifies for its investment contract.
